European Building Materials Client

Client Background:  a renowned building materials manufacturer based in Munich, Germany, founded in 1985. Specializing in high-end fireproof panels and insulation materials, the company boasts an annual output value exceeding €500 million. Its products are used in commercial buildings, hospitals, and schools, but it has been challenged by increasingly stringent EU environmental regulations.

Cooperation Content: The primary challenge was that existing fireproof panels deformed under high temperatures and needed to comply with the EU fire protection standard (EN 13501). Our team conducted multiple on-site surveys and lab tests to customize the modified phosphate flame retardant from the TCPP series. This additive not only enhanced thermal stability but also improved compatibility with the base material. We provided comprehensive formulation guidance, including addition ratios (2-5%) and process parameter adjustments, enabling seamless integration into their production line.  Results: After three months of formulation optimization and iterative testing, the product passed third-party certification from Germany’s TÜV, upgrading the fire rating from C to B-s1,d0. Production costs were reduced by approximately 8%, saving about €1.5 million annually. The client reported that this collaboration boosted product competitiveness, leading to multiple orders at the 2024 European Building Expo, and evolving the partnership into joint R&D for new materials.
